Speaker Bio
Javier Álvarez, born in 1978, joined Vueling in March 2012 as IT manager of corporate systems and in 2018 he became IT Director, after seven years in the company and twelve years of experience in different Spanish technology consultancies.
After graduating with a degree in Computer Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, he started to work as a programmer analyst, senior computer analyst and technical team leader at several consulting firms such as Robin 27, Azertia, Indra and ICNET Consulting. In his professional career as a consultant, he has developed and executed different IT programs for aviation companies such as Clickair and Vueling.
Álvarez is currently leading Vueling's digital transformation process. He plays a key role in the development of the Vueling Transform plan, which consists of 19 initiatives aimed at driving the transformation of the company to achieve greater agility and competitiveness. Of these 19 initiatives, four are primarily digital, while in the remaining 15, technology plays a key role.
