Session Description

5G IoT Summit – Making IoT work for Customers

As 5G Massive IoT, including LTE-M and NB-IoT , continues to grow and scale up we see new technologies and enablers like NTN Satellite linking with Cellular LPWAN to enhance coverage for customer applications. Additionally, the new GSMA IoT SIM specification has launched which is specifically designed to meet the requirements of end customers. There is a growing need for automating Operations and Data management and opportunities now arise for AI to play a role in IoT to create value that will save time and money.

Agenda

09:00 – 09:05 Welcome Introduction: Making IoT work for the customer

Speaker: Richard Cockle, Head of Programme – Identity, GSMA

09:05 – 09:20 Sponsored Keynote - Mastering the IoT Puzzle: Securing Seamless Connectivity

Speaker: Dr. Philipp Schulte, CEO, Giesecke+Devrient Mobile Security

In this keynote, G+D explores the business case for the IoT, as well as the major pain points of coverage, global scalability, and security.

In order to address these paint points, it’s clear that IoT connectivity providers need to provide everything from SIM technology to connectivity, lifecycle management, devices, and complete IoT solutions. This full-stack approach, industry standards advocacy, and simplified deployment strategies redefine IoT excellence.

As leaders in security tech and secure SIM technology, we prioritize end-to-end protection and data integrity. With cellular connectivity across 185 countries and integrated satellite solutions, we secure seamless connectivity, even in remote areas.

Join us on the journey to master the IoT puzzle, where satellite connectivity propels IoT into new frontiers, promising unparalleled global success, security, and profitability.

09:20 – 09:35 Sponsored Keynote - Scaling IoT: Through the Device maker’s Lens

Speaker:

Vincent Korstanje, CEO, Kigen

Cameron Coursey, Vice President, AT&T Connected Solutions

Did techno-optimism lead us to overestimate how fast IoT can scale? What does it take to bring a convergence of technology, modules, chipsets, networks, and the cloud to drive IoT scale? Fast forward to 2024: We now have ways for global companies to adopt Cellular IoT – whether their devices seek connectivity on the high seas or through space. However, many customers are often in unchartered territories and have diverse requirements across manufacturing, regulation, impact, and sustainability. So, what is needed to help break down the next barriers?

Join Vincent Korstanje for a discussion on what collaborative strides are needed to solve these and unlock the next billion connections and the impact this can have on our world!

09:35 – 10:05 NTN Panel Session – How will Satellite work with Cellular LWPAN?

New LEO satellite solutions are being launched that will enhance 5G IoT technologies and enhance coverage for IoT Solutions. We will hear how Terrestrial and Non-Terrestrial Network Operators are working together to make this happen.
